What's this blog about?

Well, we are a bunch of pastor's wives from Minnesota who want to encourage and support other pastor's wives. We meet together on a regular basis for friendship and prayer. Our desire and purpose is to pray for our marriages, families, ministiries, and each other!

Being married to a pastor is filled with amazing blessings and amazing stresses. You are NOT alone! Our prayer is that you find support and feel loved as you travel down the road that God has for YOU!

Wednesday's "Wife Of The Week" Thoughts and Recipe

This week, we are praying for Debbie of MN. I have asked her a few questions that might help us in our role as a pastor's wife. Debbie will be sharing with us some lessons God has taught her during her years in ministry. I also asked her to share one of her favorite recipes with us. ENJOY!

Recently, I was reminded about a few things that God has taught me, while being a pastor's wife, when I was in Chicago at a youth conference:

1.  Don't forget to make friends with other women. Sometimes, we can get so caught up with the students (or other great ministries) that we forget to make our own friends...who share common interests/similar life situations.  This is why I love our "RAYMN" Pastor's Wives Club so much.  It's also why I am a part of a women's bible study at my church.

2.  Another good reminder is this:  Saying "no" to the church is not saying "no" to God. It is o.k. to step back and let someone else fill a position that doesn't fit our gifting/talents.   It's also okay to just step away (or take a break) for a season.

One of my favorite recipes is Lipton Cappuccino:
2 cups milk
2-4 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
2 Lipton Soothing Moments Cinnamon Apple Herbal or cinnamon flavored tea bags (I usually just use regular tea bags and add some cinnamon.)
In a small saucepan, bring milk & sugar to boiling over high heat. Remove from heat and add tea bags; cover & steam for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags. Garnish if desired with whipped cream and chocolate curls.
Enjoy! Yummy! This is making me crave one!!!!
