What's this blog about?

Well, we are a bunch of pastor's wives from Minnesota who want to encourage and support other pastor's wives. We meet together on a regular basis for friendship and prayer. Our desire and purpose is to pray for our marriages, families, ministiries, and each other!

Being married to a pastor is filled with amazing blessings and amazing stresses. You are NOT alone! Our prayer is that you find support and feel loved as you travel down the road that God has for YOU!

Wednesday's "Wife of the Week" - Thoughts and Recipe

Wednesday is the day where the "Wife of the Week" shares with us one of her favorite recipes.  She also shares with us a few things that she has learned while being in ministry.  (Yes, this is a photo of Karlee and Reggie!  Don't you just LOVE youth ministry?  This photo made me giggle, Karlee!)  :)

This is one of my favorite things to eat - as odd as it may sound, I eat this almost every week - sometimes twice - It's sooo good!  -Karlee

Advice #1:   It's not about you, but bringing glory to God. If that means that you have to talk about video games, passing gas and shallow relationships to relate to a student, then do it. As long as your ultimate goal is to bring conversation to the things of Christ, then go with the flow and allow yourself to think like a high schooler for a time.
Advice #2:   It's not about you, but bringing glory to God. If your husband has been called to student ministry, then you have too. Maybe not in the sense that you are actively involved in small groups, youth group or even Sunday school, but try to take the time to come to an occasional event,in order to show support, get to know the kids' names and see the vision that your husband has for this extremely incredible opportunity to impact the youth of our nation for Christ. Even if you are not an adult "leader" for the youth group, your role in showing support and just being there can really encourage the students spiritually; it also adds credibility to your husband.
Advice #3:   It's not about you, but bringing glory to God. Get in the Word and desperately pursue your relationship with Christ. For a while now I have wondered why there would be tension between Reggie and I when discussing the student ministry. When I realized that I was not bathing myself in the Word and prayer, it was no wonder that Satan was having his way in our marriage. You can bring a lot of encouragement to your huband and your children by taking care of yourself in the Word.
