What's this blog about?

Well, we are a bunch of pastor's wives from Minnesota who want to encourage and support other pastor's wives. We meet together on a regular basis for friendship and prayer. Our desire and purpose is to pray for our marriages, families, ministiries, and each other!

Being married to a pastor is filled with amazing blessings and amazing stresses. You are NOT alone! Our prayer is that you find support and feel loved as you travel down the road that God has for YOU!

Wednesday's "Wife of the Week" - Thoughts and Recipe

We have been honored to pray for Regan this week.  I asked Regan to share a favorite recipe.  Regan will also share a few things that she has learned while being a pastor's wife.  Please, continue to lift up in prayer...Regan and her family!

Wheat Bread

3 c. warm water
2 T. yeast
1/3 c. honey (or sugar)
1 T. salt
1/3 c. oil
1C oatmeal
1 egg
2 T. ground flax (optional)
2 T. millet (optional)
2T wheat bran (optional)
1T vital wheat gluten (optional)
1C white flour
5-6 C wheat flour

Add flour until dough clears the sides of the bowl and a dough ball is formed. Barely sticky to the touch. Let sit for 15 min. if you have time. Knead 8-10 min. Remove from bowl and shape into 3 medium loaves. Let rise (covered) inside the oven until it looks like you want it to look when it is done (I usually just let it rise about 30 minutes and then it continues to rise as it bakes.) Turn oven up to 350 and bake for 25-30 min. or until the bottoms of the loaves are golden brown. May need to bake longer or less, depending on the strength of the oven. Enjoy.

Here are a couple of things that God has taught Regan while in ministry:
"That the congregation and staff are for you, that they want to be involved in what’s going on with the youth, you just have to ask!
That having a vision for what the youth group is about and where God is moving makes it easier to narrow down and move forward in the things He’s calling you to do, and makes it easier to say ‘no’ to the things that don’t fit that vision."
